Luffa

One plant in a deep 3.5" pot. Frost-sensitive annual.

Luffa is a vining plant that takes a while to get going, and takes all summer to produce mature gourds, but is undoubtedly worth the wait. Your seedlings will be over two months old, and might only be a few inches tall. Don’t let that fool you - by the end of the summer one vine can be enormous - over 20 feet long, and loaded with a dozen mature gourds.

The plants have strikingly beautiful yellow flowers. The male flowers grow in clusters, and each cluster continues to put on new flowers throughout the summer, making this one of the prettiest plants in our garden, and one that is always buzzing (literally) with activity.
